Balbuena holds a BA in Philosophy from the Universidad Catolica of Peru and
a MA in Political Science from The New School for Social Research, NY. Ms
Balbuena is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at the NSSR and
has moved back to Peru where she is working on her dissertation “When
Terror has a Female Face: Women from the PCP-SL” under the supervision
of Professor James E. Miller. She has presented her work on female terrorists
in different universities such as ILSTU, Fordham, NSSR and the University
of Derby in England.
